Having been lucky enough to experience the awesome phenomenon of starling murmurations, I felt compelled to explore the sense of escapism and peace these experiences evoked. Watercolour felt like the obvious choice of medium as the forms the paint takes as it flows across the paper echo the movements of the murmurations themselves. I now make visits to the Somerset Levels each winter to watch the starlings and create paintings inspired by my experiences. These artworks are available either as originals or prints.
