Thank you for considering a commissioned piece from Kath Williams Art. Creating a bespoke artwork or piece of jewellery is a collaborative process, and I aim to ensure that every commission is a unique and enjoyable experience.
The Commission Process
Commissions begin with an initial discussion to explore your ideas, inspiration, preferred size, colour palette and any other specific requirements.
Following this discussion, I will provide a quotation, an estimated timescale and, where appropriate, a brief proposal before work begins.
As each commission is individually designed and handmade, every piece is unique.
Deposit and Payment
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the agreed price is required before work commences.
The remaining balance, together with any delivery costs, is payable before your completed commission is dispatched or collected.
Work will not begin until the deposit has been received.
Changes During the Process
Minor adjustments can usually be accommodated during the design stage.
Once work has commenced, significant changes to the agreed design may not be possible or may incur additional charges, depending on the stage of the commission.
If you would like to request changes, please discuss these with me as early as possible.
Timescales
Estimated completion dates will be discussed before work begins.
While I always endeavour to complete commissions within the agreed timeframe, completion dates are estimates and may occasionally be affected by factors beyond my control, such as drying times, kiln firing, material availability or unforeseen circumstances.
If any significant delay occurs, I will keep you informed throughout the process.
Cancellations
As commissioned work is created specifically for you, orders may be cancelled only before work has commenced.
Once work has begun, the deposit is non-refundable.
If a commission is cancelled after substantial work has been completed, I reserve the right to retain all payments received to reflect the time, materials and creative work already invested.
Returns and Refunds
Commissioned artwork and bespoke jewellery are created to your individual requirements and therefore cannot be returned or refunded unless they arrive damaged or are faulty.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Delivery
Completed commissions will be carefully packaged and sent using an appropriate tracked delivery service unless collection has been arranged.
Any delivery costs will be confirmed before your order is completed.
Copyright
Copyright and all intellectual property rights remain with Kath Williams unless otherwise agreed in writing.
I reserve the right to photograph commissioned work and use images of it for my portfolio, website, exhibitions and social media unless we have agreed otherwise before work begins.
