A fun, colourful and creative after-school workshop where children can experiment with pattern, colour and shape to create their own fabulous shiny patchwork picture!
Using a selection of pre-cut geometric shapes in shimmering metallic leather and faux leather, children will piece together their own unique designs. A little bit like a puzzle, they'll explore how different shapes fit together, experiment with colour combinations and discover the magic of pattern making and tessellation.
Perfect for all primary-aged children, this is a relaxed, hands-on creative session where there's no right or wrong way to create. Every child will take home a beautiful, bright and colourful hanging frame featuring their very own shiny patchwork design.
In this workshop, children will:
Experiment with colour combinations and contrasting metallic finishes.
Explore geometric shapes, pattern making and tessellation.
Develop their creativity through playful, puzzle-like design.
Create a unique piece of shiny artwork to take home and display.
All materials and equipment provided.
The workshop is led by Kath, a qualified primary school teacher with 13 years of classroom experience.
Suitable for all primary-aged children. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
